Taken on the morning 20th November 2005, this image was taken in the woods around Goathorn Farm which is off the Ferry Road in Studland. The sun was just breaking through the heavy trees and it caught one of the the few leaves that remained on the branches. I used a tripod and a 200mm zoom lens to frame the picture with a large aperture to blur the unusual colours made by the surrounding foliage.
There are plenty of walks off the Ferry Road with a great diversity of natural surroundings including the sand dunes at Studland beach. Deer can often be seen, and there are also many hides for bird watching .
